These Socks

DSC02120
sitting on these socks
full of sweat and grime
out of all these socks
none of them are mine

these socks they have been rinsed
not just once, but twice
let’s throw them in the washer
and then they will smell nice

Tub Talk

I'm on the tub
perched atop
a lot of socks
stinky, smelly
'neath my belly

The Normans

We are the Normans,
three bears loved by three boys
all our names are Norman,
and though we are just toys

the love we give is precious
a love that can't be found
in dump-trucks or that leggo
they leave on the ground

so squeeze us, scrunch, and crush us
throw us down the stairs
pick us up and drag us
to a comfy chair

hold us while you're crying
hold us when you're scared
cuddle us at sleep time
your Norman's always there!

Thoughts...

I'm sleeping in the dishrack
right beside the sink
it's cozy and real private
it gives me time to think
and when they wash the dishes
I will run away
to sleep inside the sock drawer
until I want to play

my name is squeeks they tell me
a special kind of cat
not the cutest, not too smart
but I don't care about that!

Dead Duck

Dead duck, lost duck
dropped from baby's hand
lying on the sidewalk
full of dirt and sand

No one's coming back for you
no one to take you home
in rain and snow you'll rot away
dying all alone!

Stumpy Proud

Stumpy proud
Stumpy strong
without feet
you hop along

other birds
your friends not
mock the feet
that you ain't got!

The Shelter of My Un-Doing

safe and dry... for how long?
Caught in a terrible thunder storm,
I took shelter in the first paper bag I found.
Brilliant! However...
Paper can only withstand rain for a short time and then it wilts!

Moral of the story- Don't take shelter in a paperbag during a big storm.
